Such a lovely, yearning song about hating Winnipeg. Hating Winnipeg can’t possibly sound like that. I can’t make myself believe the lyrics — it’s like someone’s holding up a grayscale watercolor painting and making up a song about it.
Maya should have told me about this. Haha, this song speaks to me in so many ways. Mutual disdain for the city that never wakes up. I remember when Steven and I played this on Rock Invasion back at McMaster ;). Winnipeg, trying WAY TOO HARD. Can you believe that “One Great City” is the slogan on the Welcome to Winnipeg sign? The slogan was “Winterpeg” before that if I am remember correctly *shakes head in disapproval*
